  • Has not been with cats under our care so we don't know how she is with them

  • Housetrained using the crate training method.  We don't know she knows how to ask to go out.  That's because there are many unhousetrained dogs from shelters in her foster home  so she is taken out frequently along with all the others.  Her foster mom  doesn't wait for each one to ask to go out.  Heidy hasn't pottied in her foster mom's house, but her foster mom is very experienced in how to avoid accidents.

We rescued Heidy from a local shelter.  A Good Samaritan brought her there saying they found her.  Heidy's hair/fur was already short at that time and the shelter designated her a Miniature Poodle mix.  Heidy was also  lactating at the time.  No one knows what happened to her puppies but we're guessing they were sold by her previous owner.  Heidy was very scared at the shelter and no staff member could get her out of her kennel to take her out for walks.  Once with us in a foster home, she turned around completely and walks very nicely on a leash.

If interested in Heidy these are the steps:

1.  Read her bio carefully to make sure she's the right dog for you and you meet the adoption requirements.

2.  Fill out an adoption app from our website here (copy & paste this hyperlink into your browser):

3.  If we think you and Heidy could be a great fit we'll contact you within 72 hours of receiving your application.    We're a very small volunteer-based rescue taking care of lots of animals so we don't have time to contact everyone who applies or respond to all inquires.  We're very sorry and we're hoping this will change soon.
