Gus Gus

Gus Gus cavorts around playfully both with people and with other dogs. He loves to run which we believe he gets from his Whippet heritage along with his tall legs, sleek body, and relatively long tail. He's pretty quiet and barks only occasionally so he'd be fine living in an apartment, in fact that's where he lives now. Gus Gus loves his walks so if you're up for a walking buddy he's your guy. Gus Gus makes a great companion. He'll follow you around your house and be your shadow. While he's timid with new people he becomes very devoted to those he knows, loving being rubbed behind his ears. He's a 14 lb. boy who's about 6 years old and is housetrained. Gus Gus has been placing his paw on his foster's leg to let her know he wants love or needs to go out to go potty. He's calm but also has fun-loving playfulness at times as shown in the videos below.

Gus Gus was brought into the Bonita shelter in San Diego in a box with 8 other dogs by someone who said all 9 dogs had been left abandoned in a apartment by their previous owner. Most of these dogs had been medically neglected, but not Gus Gus. He only needed a dental which Animal Alliance has gotten him and he's now healthy as a horse.

Since Gus Gus was a stray we really don't know what breed mix he is. His eyes look Puggish and so do some other elements of his face, but his body is streamlined and he has long gazelle legs more like a Whippet's.

Even though Animal Alliance has spent over $300 to get Gus Gus' teeth cleaned his adoption fee is only $90 because he has a sponsor. That fee goes to help cover his and other homeless dog's expenses like food, supplies, and medical. He is neutered and comes with all his vaccinations and a microchip.

Gus Gus is a benevolent soul looking for a serene loving permanent home. Is that home yours? Please contact Animal Alliance of San Diego at info@AnimalAllianceSD.org if you think it might be.
