Forrest

Forrest is a cute little Russian Tortoise who was found in North County, San Diego with a few chips missing from his shell. He's 4 inches long by 3.5 inches wide and was estimated to be 10 years old at the shelter where he came from. Now that he has been in foster care, he's become comfortable in his little garden and his foster has been getting to know him. He is friendly and likes his veggies, but also likes to dig down low into a dirt pile whenever he's not foraging (which protects him from predators and helps him regulate his internal temperature). We bring him inside at night because of his vulnerability to birds of prey and cold weather. His adoptive family will need to have a secure, grassy area outdoors for him to get his UVB during the day, and the time to devote to making sure he is well cared for. We are happy to give his new family pointers for setting up an enclosure and giving him the proper diet. Someone's going to get very lucky with this little guy!
Forrest's adoption fee is $20. Please email us at info@animalalliancesd.org if you're interested in meeting him.
